Upgradation of Technology 

Due to the expansion of information technology and the wide range of the Internet, law enforcement and intelligence agencies face various problems in investigating Internet-based crime activities. Considering that problem, the present Director Brigadier General Ziaul Ahsan has started working on increasing the capability of NTMC in different areas through the purchase of modern technology equipment.

Inauguration of NTMC office Building

On 1st January , 2017, the  office of NTMC started functioning from the head office of the DGFI building, to newly constructed building adjacent to the Honorable Prime Minister's Relief Godown in a informal ceremony. The Hon'ble Home Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Mr. Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, MP inaugurated the the main office building. Honorable Prime Minister's Security and Defense Advisor Major Genarel Tarique Ahmed Siddique, rcds, psc was present as special guest in the inauguration ceremony. Also The Hon'ble State Minister of Post & Telecommunication Division under ministry of post , telecommunications & information technology of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Ms. Tarana Halim, MP, all the Hon'ble Secretaries of the Ministry, Heads of  the different law enforcement agencies, including prominent personalities were present at that ceremony.

 Start the construction of NTMC Office building

Construction of NTMC’s own building started on 8th January, 2015 on 0.94 acres of land adjacent to Relief Godown of the Hon'ble Prime Minister's Office at Tejgaon Airport. The organization's former director Brigadier General Ibne Fazal Sayekhuzzaman, AFWC, PSC inaugurated the start of the work.

Permission to Constract NTMC office building

NTMC has experienced various infrastructural difficulties in the limited range of DGFI buildings due to increased capacity at different levels. As a result, considering the overall context and reality of NTMC's role in national security, On September 11, 2014, it was ordered from the office of the Honorable Prime Minister to move to its own specialized building. 0.94 acres of land adjacent to Relief Godown of the Hon'ble Prime Minister's Office at Tejgaon Airport has been allocated for NTMC's own building.

Upgradation of Operational capability

Due to technical excellence worldwide, the use of advanced technology increases. In this regard, by realizing the need of strengthen the NTMC’s capabilities equally, the concerned authorities decided to purchase the most widely used system in the international environment. By establishing the system, the telecommunication monitoring capabilities of the country will be greatly increased which will help law enforcement agencies take an effective role in crime prevention.

By the direction of Ministry of Public Administration, Brigadier General Ibne Fazal Sayekhuzzaman, AFWC, PSC took charge as the first director of NTMC. After taking over responsibility, despite various adversities including financial and manpower crisis, he started a comprehensive program to make NTMC a fully-fledged organization through hard work and prudent guidance.

Manpower

By the direction of Ministry of Public Administration , 44 posts of manpower (23 officers and 21 other designations) were created under the NTMC. Later, manpower adjustment was done from different law enforcement agencies.

National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC) Establishment

Due to the worldwide free flow of information, the level of information-related crime has increased greatly. In this context, with the approval of the Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of Bangladesh, on January 31, 2013, NMC has changed & increased its level with the name of “National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC)". The organization started operations under the Ministry of Home Affairs as a separate organization since February 2014.

 National Monitoring Center (NMC) Establishment

With the support of the Government of Bangladesh and financing of mobile operators, National Monitoring Center (NMC) was formed in the DGFI building in 2008. The NMC provides interception assistance to the law enforcement agencies by relinquishing duty on a daily basis of 24 hours a day. From the very beginning, it plays an important role in protecting national security.
